The Carpet Museum (Halı Müzesi) is a museum devoted to the Turkish arts of halı (carpet) and kilim (rug) in Sultanahmet, by the Hagia Sophia. The 18th-century building that is now the Carpet Museum was once the Hagia Sophia's public coup kitchen, serving the masses of Istanbul. As a museum, the building showcases the traditional weaving of Anatolia, displaying 806 carpets from the 14th to 20th centuries. 

Three galleries contain carpets from different eras, with the first showing carpets of the Anatolian Seljuks, the second gallery holding Central and East Anatolian carpets of the Ottomans, and the third gallery showing carpets from Uşak and prayer rugs.
